Effective January 1, 2024, Savaria announces Sébastien Bourassa as the new President and Chief Executive Officer, while Marcel Bourassa, the founder of the company who has been at the helm for over three decades, will transition to the role of Executive Chairman of the Board.
Reflecting on his remarkable 34-year journey with Savaria, Marcel Bourassa expressed immense pride in the company’s evolution from a modest Québec-based operation to a global frontrunner in the accessibility sector. In his upcoming role as Executive Chairman, Marcel Bourassa aims to concentrate on Savaria’s acquisition strategy and the ‘Savaria One’ initiatives, which are pivotal to the company’s growth trajectory. Moreover, he is enthusiastic about mentoring the next generation of leaders at Savaria, ensuring a legacy of excellence and innovation.
Sébastien Bourassa, poised to take over as President and CEO, has been an integral part of Savaria’s story, having gained invaluable experience across various facets of the business. His impressive portfolio includes spearheading key manufacturing expansions such as Savaria Huizhou in China and the recent establishment of Savaria Mexico. His current tenure as Chief Operating Officer, preceded by his role as Vice President of Operations and Integration, underscores a track record of dynamic leadership and strategic vision.
